Today i caught the 8.00 train and arrived at the hospital at 8.45. I had 10 minutes to spare until i finnaly started at 9. I got sent straight to CT. Where they were about to start at 3hr procedure, and i had to observe it. The man had a lesion inside of his liver, it is also known as a tumour and they wanted to burn it by sticking a needle inside. It kind of freaked me out, because when they wheeled the old man in he was wide awake and then i saw how the doctors put him to sleep, it was kind of scary. Susan the lady who was performing the injection missed a couple of times, and i could imagine all the pain the man wouldve gone through if he was awake! It was 12.30 and the procedure had finished and they let me have lunch which was bymyself haha. I ate my sanwich, orange juice, freddo and bought a potato cake. Im so fat! It was 1 oclock and then i followed These two radiographers to do a mobile xray on people who were really sick and were unable to get out of bed. We walked to the cardiac place, it was scary because thats the place where people have heart problems. The man we were xraying had lots of tubes and lines attached to him and it wobbled his belly which made it eaiser for him to breathe there were about 10 nurses in the room so i jsut stood outside and tried to look. We then moved to the ICU department which is the Intensive care unit. These are the people who need to be monitered 24/7 because they are really sick. I looked around it was quite sad seeing people restless and really sick. After we did he xray there we then went to the Recovery room, this is where the people who just came out of surgery go. It was quite interesting seeing how much young people were there. In the afternoon i went to a powerpoint presentation with Andrea. It was boring but then i was allowd to leave at 4.
