Today was my second last day at radiology. It was quite a productive day and i was pumped because i had a coffee in the morning! 9-12 I was in the flurology room where they make people swallow barium to make the xrays more clearly, this section was mainly for people who had operations in the chest, oesophagus and trachea To see for any leakage to any other parts of the lungs. I was quite excited for my break at 1230 because i was starving, i ate for about 45 mins, went to the toilet and went back up. I followed Rebecca to do portable mobile xrays, we went to the cardiac department where a lady just had a pacemaker instered inside her body to keep her heart pumping. We did an xray on her and she was really cute! Then we walked to the surgical part, and xrayed a man with chest problems and see if he was able to breathe properly, aproximately now it was 140pm and i was taken to the Place where speech pathologists work and do swallow tests to see if there is anything wrong with a patients eating or drinking and see if it gets stuck in the epiglottis. i stayed there until 4, just until i had to go home. That area was very interesting i wouldve liked to stay there longer. The guy that was looking after me, chris was really nice, we had a chat, we went for a walk and he pushed me around in the wheelchair to get a patient.
